1. Introduction:
The Robot Smashing League is committed to providing a safe and fair competition environment for all participants. To ensure that the event runs smoothly, all participants are expected to adhere to the following competitor conduct policy.
2. Sportsmanship:
All participants are expected to display good sportsmanship throughout the competition. This includes treating other competitors, event staff, and spectators with respect and courtesy. Any unsportsmanlike behavior, such as trash-talking, taunting, or physical violence, will not be tolerated.
3. Safety:
The safety of all participants and spectators is a top priority. All robots must meet the safety requirements outlined in the event rules and regulations. Any robot deemed unsafe by the event staff will not be allowed to compete. Additionally, all participants must follow the safety guidelines established by the event staff.
4. Cheating:
Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, tampering with robots or the competition arena, using prohibited equipment or software, and engaging in any other behavior deemed unethical by the event staff.
5. Communication with Event Staff:
All participants are expected to communicate in a professional manner with the event staff. This includes following the event staff's instructions, responding to questions in a timely manner, and reporting any issues or concerns to the event staff.
6. Formal Warning:
In the event that a participant violates the competitor conduct policy, the event staff may issue a formal warning. The participant must rectify the violation within a reasonable time frame as determined by the event staff. If the violation is not corrected, the participant may face consequences as outlined in section 7.
7. Consequences of Violating the Policy:
Participants who violate the competitor conduct policy may face consequences, including but not limited to, disqualification from the event, loss of prizes, and/or ban from future events. The event staff reserves the right to determine the appropriate consequences for any violation of the competitor conduct policy.
8. Dispute Resolution:
In the event of a dispute, participants are encouraged to try to resolve the issue with the event staff. If a resolution cannot be reached, participants may file a formal complaint with the event organizers for further investigation.
Filming and Photography:
Robot Smashing League events may be filmed and photographed for promotional and archival purposes. By participating in the event, all participants grant permission for the event organizers to use their image and likeness in promotional materials, such as photographs, videos, and advertisements.
Exceptions:
If a participant does not wish to be filmed or photographed, they must inform the event staff in writing before the start of the competition. The event staff will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the participant's request.
Usage Rights:
The event organizers retain all rights to the photographs and videos taken at the event. Participants agree that they will not use any photographs or videos taken at the event for commercial purposes without the express written consent of the event organizers.
By participating in the Robot Smashing League events, all competitors agree to abide by the competitor conduct policy. The event staff reserves the right to modify the policy as necessary to ensure the safety and fairness of the competition.
