Receivers can be powered directly from the balance plug of lipo batteries. This removes the need for a BEC to power the receiver.
The above cable utilizes pin one for ground and pin 3 for positive. This provides two cells in series of voltage to the receiver. At a full charge with a lipo battery this should be roughly 8.4 volts.
