RSL at the Armory in October

We are excited to host another MRCA qualifying combat robot competition at the National Guard Armory in Hastings, MN! This event will feature the following weight classes:

• 1lb Plastic Antweight
• 1lb Antweight
• 3lb Beetleweight

All matches will take place in enclosed arenas to keep the action safe but exciting.

Sign Ups

We will not have caps for sign up for this event. However, to ensure we have enough space planned we will not exceed 120 robots.

Sign ups open August 28th at 10 AM CST

Event Details

• Date: October 18, 2025
• Location: Hastings National Guard Armory – 3050 MN-316, Hastings, MN 55033
• Venue: Plenty of pit space with provided tables and chairs. TVs will be available to watch fights live.

Tournament Formats

Plastic Antweight

Group Stage where 3-1 and better records move into Single Elimination

Antweight and Beetleweight Fights will be a Matchmaking System

This event will debut a new matchmaking format:

• A queuing period will be used to organize matches.
• Each robot will be paired with another robot close to their current rank for fair and exciting matchups.
• Rankings will be determined by the MRCA Elo Rankings and will be updated throughout the day. If you don't have a MRCA rank you'll start at 1500.
• Maximum of 6 matches per robot during the day.
• Once a match has been made, the match must be fought — withdrawing from the match counts as a forfeit.
• Each driver may only have one robot queued per weight class at a time.
• Example: If a driver has one antweight bot and one beetleweight bot, both can be queued at the same time.
• If a driver has two antweight bots, only one can be queued at a time — the second cannot be queued until the first has completed its match.

• 8:00 AM – Doors Open for Competitors and Safety Opens
• 9:45 AM - Matchmaking Begins
• 10:00 AM – Spectators Welcome / Fights Begins
• 6:00 PM – Final Round of Matchmaking will Start

Entry Fees

• $25 per bot

• Plastic Ants follow SPARC construction rules

Spectators and Volunteers

• Spectators: Free entry, doors open at 10 AM
